Expansion and innovation
Greenwood Plants was initially founded in 1979, operating from sites in Cheshire and the Wirral, underwent a significant transformation in 2011 with the relocation of its headquarters to West Sussex. This strategic move paved the way for the Company’s expansion, acquiring four additional sites over the next decade to meet the increasing demand in the Southeast. In 2021, Greenwood extended its reach into Europe, establishing Greenwood Holland, and positioning Greenwood as a key operator in the European market.
Commitment to Sustainability
As part of Greenwood’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, in 2021 it launched its innovative ‘G Cycle’ scheme, to recycle its wooden packaging, and has recently incorporated plastic pots. The programme proved to be highly successful, and this led to furthering the concept by setting up a dedicated recycling and reuse business.
